The Opposite Side
I was sitting in my chair and a bundle of thoughts came into me, and this poem happened and went out as they came in.
People ask,
What is there, where you are standing.
What is the secret you erect, alone and lonely.
I see you break sometimes, but you get strong eventually.
What is it that lets you forgive everyone,
What is it that lets you be with everyone,
and still remain unattached and not bonded.
What is the suffering in your words?
What are you? Are you different? Are you heavenly?
Questions all around — and I have answers for them all.
But when you really understand all the questions, the answer is not needed at all.
The question is the pursuit — to hide all the answers.
Answers and conclusions create duality,
It is the way to riddle the brain, and make it wander.
The thought itself is cruel — as cancer.
So leave the bag of knowledge behind,
become innocent, become free,
become no-one, and just let it be.
Get lost, and feel the wind.
Get into the water — cold and freezing,
Look at the sun at dawn and dusk — the way it comes and leaves,
Never try, just be.
All those you see are created by you,
All those you do not see are also created by you.
Close your eyes, be optimistic.
Be faithful towards yourself.
You may know what you do and what you are,
but remember the important thing is “The Opposite Side”.
