What is Programming and where to start ?

Programming?

What comes to you mind when you first hear this word. Maybe some computer codes, or some bulks of colorful text which are being rapidly typed, or maybe something that runs your daily useful apps. But what if I say programming is more than just that. I am not going to sound it like “It is the future. It is what will make things work automatically.”, rather I would like to tell what immense power it possess.

Let us start from the Stone Age, where there were nothing but stones. I am kidding, there were other things too there but let us come a bit more near the future – to the time when Internet was given in the hand of general public. After the internet was expanding its web everywhere every creative mind got a platform where they can share something but above that it also gave people to solve problems all around the world.

That alarm app that rings every morning, whenever the maths give you trouble – you open a calculator app to solve few steps, applications that let you post your feelings and make it to known to your entire friend circle – these are few applications we are familiar with but what if I take you more deep. Think about the system that distribute electricity, softwares that prints bills in a departmental stores and shopping malls, think of applications that are used to book tickets online, think how banks track all the transactions, there are numerous examples of application that you have around you.

So, keep thinking of all these things and let me take your mind to a rice cooker. Isn’t is amazing that it cooks rice and turns off itself.

What is being done here is we have programmed rice cooker is such a way that it understands electricity. We take it and make it say see you need to know when things are the way we want to be and then just turn yourself off. But we do not upload codes there do we ?? No we do not.

Thus, programming is more than what you think. It is about the way you direct some logic to some direction that it becomes that powerful that it can perform all you hourly hectic tasks in matter of second. Yes, it is realistic. I had once created a script of code which solved my 1 week work in 3 days and I had to touch the computer only once to start the script, isn’t that amazing? 

Isn’t programming sounding cool now. Well, but everything cool things comes with some investment of time. If you are willing to put yourself into some effort and learn programming then start today. Start writing few lines of codes and start understanding the nature of hardwares so that you can make logics work in a brilliant way.

YouTube is a free platform where me myself have learned about a lot of tools. It is the best place where you start and also keep expanding you learning curve. I have recently come up with a python course. Python – is the easiest programming language you can learn and one of the most powerful tool too with some limitations – but not many. I am making an episode wise, python series if you want to become a powerful in programming then you should start practicing programming using this series.
